“What’s the Holocene?”
“It’s some sort of geological epoch – I think that’s when the dinosaurs lived.”
“In Basel? – That’s cool.”
“No, I don’t know if they lived in Basel. But they found a mummified skunk from the Holocene down here in the hole!”
“Did you see it?”
“No, but the boss said so.”
“And because of this skunk, we haven’t been able to work for a week?”
“Yes, they reckon there might be more skunks like that round there, and that’s important!”
“Because of the Holocene?”
“Yes, and maybe because of the dinosaurs too.”
“But we’d find them too, wouldn’t we? They’re huge!”
“Yes, they were huge. But with our jackhammers, we might end up destroying them.”
“The dinosaurs?”
“Yes, them too, but mainly the mummified skunks.”
