He can’t believe it! He’d only just seen it a moment ago. But now it’s simply vanished into the crowd.
The zoo has tasked him with tracking down the escaped skunk and bringing it back as quickly as possible. As it had already reduced two keepers to tears with a powerful spray from its anal glands during its escape – sending them home for a thorough wash and a change of clothes – the risk of another stink attack isn’t very high, as he’s been told and reassured. Not for him, anyway, as he’s perfectly protected in his outfit. But he knows it can also deliver a painful bite. That’s precisely why he dropped it in a panic just now, when it fixed him with an angry glare and bared its teeth. And this right in the middle of Barfüsserplatz, to the mocking laughter of a few cheeky little brats. But if this skunk were now to produce fresh secretions whilst hidden away somewhere and then start spraying wildly into this crowd, it would be an olfactory disaster of epic proportions, which he must prevent at all costs.
